PRELIMINARY FLOOD MAPS IN HARRIS (SIMS BAYOU) COUNTY, TX READY FOR PUBLIC VIEW

DENTON, Texas – New preliminary flood maps will soon be available for residents and business owners near Sims Bayou.

To learn more about the proposed map changes, Harris County and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials will host an Open House on Tuesday, May 16, 2 -7 p.m. It will be held at the Houston Community College, Central South Campus at 1990 Airport Blvd, Houston.

Viewing these maps can help residents and business owners make informed decisions about buying flood insurance. Community leaders can use them to make decisions about future developments.

Additional information is available, including links to the interactive mapping website on www.riskmap6.com. Residents can also contact the floodplain administrator in each community in the Sims Bayou area for more details.
