Help Remains after Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers Close in Harris and Jefferson Counties

AUSTIN, Texas – Two State of Texas/Federal Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (MDRCs) in the cities of Houston and Bevil Oaks will close permanently on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017. However, help is just a mouse click, phone call or a tap on the FEMA app away.

The centers are at the following locations:

Harris County
Tidwell Community Center
9720 Spaulding St.
Houston, TX 77016
Closing at 6 p.m.

 

Jefferson County
Bevil Oaks Parking Lot
7390 Sweetgum Rd.
Bevil Oaks, TX 77713
Closing at 5 p.m.

 

Individuals and businesses in counties included in the Texas federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent floods can still get help, and register if they haven’t done so, in the following ways:

Online at DisasterAssistance.gov.Calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (voice, 711/VRS-Video Relay Service) (TTY: 800-462-7585). Multilingual operators are available (press 2 for Spanish).Via the FEMA app, available for Apple and Android mobile devices. Homeowners, renters and businesses in Aransas, Austin, Bastrop, Bee, Brazoria, Caldwell, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Goliad, Gonzales, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Karnes, Kleberg, Lavaca, Lee, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Nueces, Orange, Polk, Refugio, Sabine, San Jacinto, San Patricio, Tyler, Victoria, Walker, Waller and Wharton counties may be eligible for help.
