FEMA grants $2.68 million to Aransas County Navigation District

AUSTIN, Texas — FEMA has awarded more than $2.68 million to the Aransas County Navigation District for two pavilions damaged by Hurricane Harvey. The Rockport Beachfront Pavilion and the Saltwater Pavilion in Rockport, as well as their annexes, sustained significant damage to their roofs, walls, floors, stairways and air-conditioning systems. FEMA provided more than $2.68 million to replace the buildings or restore them to their pre-disaster condition.  The total cost of the projects exceeds $2.98 million, and the FEMA grant requires a 10 percent nonfederal contribution by the applicant, or $298,425 The funding...

FEMA temporary housing units authorized for sale to eligible occupants

AUSTIN, Texas — At the request of the State of Texas, certain Hurricane Harvey survivors living in FEMA temporary housing units (THUs) administered by the Texas General Land Office will be offered the opportunity to purchase their current unit. To be eligible to purchase a THU, which includes manufactured housing units and travel-trailers, the survivor must lack a permanent housing solution, through no fault of their own. Hurricane Harvey temporary housing program extended until August 2019

AUSTIN, Texas — A recent extension to the temporary housing program provided by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) may provide Hurricane Harvey survivors a manufactured housing unit, travel-trailer or direct-lease apartment until Aug. 25, 2019.
