Five Parishes Added to Louisiana Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance Following Hurricane Barry

BATON ROUGE, La. — At the request of the state of Louisiana, Lafayette, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard and St. Martin parishes have been added to the August 27 major disaster declaration for preparations and damages related to Hurricane Barry.  The additional parishes are now eligible for FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) funding to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Barry between July 10 and 15, 2019.  FEMA’s PA program reimburses parishes, states, tribes and certain nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis (75 percent federal share)....

FEMA awards nearly $2 million for Galveston storm drain and pump station improvements

AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded nearly $2 million to the city of Galveston through the Texas Division of Emergency Management to fund Phase I of a new storm drain system located between 14th and 18th streets.
