The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded more than $3.3 million to the City of Houston to reimburse the city for sheltering citizens following Hurricane Harvey. After the City of Houston sheltered more than 10,000 people at the height of Harvey response, 897 households needed continued sheltering. The City of Houston entered into a contract with the Houston Housing Authority and Residences on Emancipation to house these remaining households.
