FEMA awards $1.4 million to Bay City for generators

AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $1.4 million to Bay City, Texas, to purchase four fixed and two portable generators. The generators will provide the backup electrical supply at critical facilities in the city. The fixed units will be used by several city departments including the waste water treatment plant, water plant, sewer lift station and the municipal airport.  The portable units will be used at 27 lift stations across the city.  The generator purchase is a part of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP)....

Texans in FEMA housing units should call maintenance immediately if their cooling unit fails  AUSTIN, Texas – Extreme heat is expected in several parts of Texas today and may continue through Sunday in some areas, the National Weather Service has warned. FEMA grants more than $6.2 million to the Texas Department of Transportation for emergency response and protective measures during Hurricane Harvey

AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $6.2 million for the Texas Department of Transportation support activities following Hurricane Harvey.  The department set up temporary base camps in seven locations, Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, Sugarland, Beaumont, Refugio, Yoakum and Liberty, to provide lodging and meals to first responders and emergency officials after Harvey’s landfall. The camps provided needed lodging and food services that were not available in the area after the hurricane.  The $6.2 million federal grant funds the entire scope of the camp operations....
