An elongated area of low pressure marked by flaring thunderstorms continue some 1100 miles southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. Environmental conditions appear conducive for additional development of this system, and a tropical depression could form during the next couple of days while the area of low pressure moves west-northwest at near 10 mph.
