For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Orlene, located several hundred miles west-southwest of the southern
tip of the Baja California peninsula.
1. An area of low pressure is expected to form late this week or this
weekend several hundred miles south or south-southwest of the
southwestern coast of Mexico. Slow development of this system is
possible after that time while the low moves generally west-
northwestward.
