Deadline for Arkansans to register for federal assistance is midnight Aug. 7

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — One day remains for survivors to register for federal assistance for damages sustained in the Arkansas flooding that occurred from May 21 to June 14.

The deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 7, at midnight.

Registering with FEMA is easy, and there are multiple ways to do so before the Aug. 7 deadline:

Go online to www.disasterassistance.gov. Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Phone lines are open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time until further notice. Multilingual operators are on duty. Use FEMA’s disaster app on your smartphone. If you haven’t downloaded the app, you can get it at www.fema.gov/mobile-app.

The U.S. Small Business Administration offers low-interest disaster loans to businesses of all sizes, most private nonprofits, homeowners and renters. The deadline for SBA loan applications for physical property damage is also Wednesday, Aug. 7. The deadline for businesses to submit loan applications for economic injury is March 9, 2020.

The Arkansas counties designated for federal individual assistance are: Arkansas, Conway, Crawford, Desha, Faulkner, Jefferson, Lincoln, Logan, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Sebastian and Yell.
