$1.5 Million to Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections for Flood Recovery

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections (LDPSC) will receive $1.5 million through disaster funding for emergency protective measures following the August floods. Funds are obligated through FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program.PA recovery funding will reimburse LDPSC for emergency activities implemented at nine facilities throughout the state for male, female and youth offenders. Reimbursement costs include evacuation and shelter costs of offenders, emergency supplies and the cost of labor for correctional staff. FEMA’s Public Assistance Program Obligates $10 Million to Area Schools

BATON ROUGE, La. — Four schools in East Baton Rouge and Ascension parishes have an additional $10 million to recover and rebuild following the August floods.FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program awarded more than $3.3 million to the East Baton Rouge School Board for remediation at Park Forest Middle School and Park Forest Elementary School.
