BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections (LDPSC) will receive $1.5 million through disaster funding for emergency protective measures following the August floods. Funds are obligated through FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program.PA recovery funding will reimburse LDPSC for emergency activities implemented at nine facilities throughout the state for male, female and youth offenders. Reimbursement costs include evacuation and shelter costs of offenders, emergency supplies and the cost of labor for correctional staff.
